The Energy Consortium, IIT Madras

Accelerating Net Zero Through Collaboration

The Energy Consortium is a multidisciplinary platform established at IIT Madras to accelerate the transition towards a net-zero future. Founded in December 2021 and recognized as an Institute of Eminence Centre at IIT Madras in May 2023, the Consortium brings together academia, industry, government, and policymakers to address some of the world’s most pressing energy challenges.

Our belief is simple: technologies proven and deployed at scale in India can become solutions for the world.

By fostering collaboration, driving innovation, and shaping policy conversations, we aim to create impactful energy solutions that are sustainable, scalable, and globally relevant
