International Interdisciplinary Masters Program (I2MP) in Energy Systems
The two-year MTech program is specially crafted for highly motivated top-tier international Science and Engineering students interested in an interdisciplinary master’s degree. The program brings together innovative curricula with IIT Madras’ award-winning pedagogy and research methodology and aims to provide students with the basic skill sets that spread across the multiple domains of energy, as its core content. Electives offer a way to specialize in certain aspects as well. The second year of the program will be dedicated to a research-based master’s thesis. It is expected that the student after graduation would be capable of tackling the issues in this highly interdisciplinary field in industry or in academic research.

The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and the University of Birmingham are offering the Joint MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems (AY 2025-2026), designed to equip students with cutting-edge expertise in clean energy transition.
