The Energy Consortium collaborates with Denmark

The Energy Consortium collaborates with Denmark and broadly the Nordics via the Denmark Energy Agency and the Embassy of India in Copenhagen, and is an advisory member of Innovation Centre Denmark, Bangalore.

Key Initiatives

  • Green Energy Academy – the Danish–Indian Green Energy Academy, led by The Energy Consortium with Energy Cluster Denmark, Aprendio and the Energy and Climate Academy, under Denmark’s Energy Export Initiatives programme; contributes to SDG 7, SDG 13 and SDG 17
  • SHIELD project – Prof. Shanti Swarup, with Prof. Kaushik Das of DTU (Technical University of Denmark), selected (from 15 joint proposals) under the 2024 Indo-Danish bilateral research call for ā€œStrategic Green Hydrogen Integration Towards Energy Transition and Localisation – Demand to Deployment (SHIELD)ā€
  • INNOWIND Report (Jan 2025) – white paper on India–Denmark offshore wind collaboration, policy frameworks, infrastructure readiness and grid integration
  • Visit of Shri Manish Prabhat, Ambassador of India to Denmark, to IIT Madras, with focus areas including marine spatial planning, offshore wind and green ports

PARTNERSHIP

Green Hydrogen Research Partnership

As part of the Green Strategic Partnership between India and Denmark, Prof. Shanti Swarup has been selected for the Indo-Danish Green Hydrogen Research Program.

In collaboration with Prof. Kaushik Das from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), the SHIELD Project focuses on:

  • Green hydrogen technologies
  • Renewable fuel production
  • Industrial decarbonization
  • Clean transportation solutions

The initiative supports the transition from renewable electricity to scalable green fuel ecosystems.

Danish–Indian Green Energy Academy

Supported by the Danish Energy Agency, The Energy Consortium leads the Danish–Indian Green Energy Academy in collaboration with:

  • Energy Cluster Denmark
  • Aprendio
  • Energy and Climate Academy

The initiative strengthens public-private collaboration while building capacity, market readiness, and innovation pathways for clean energy deployment in India.

Indo-Nordic Forum on Green Transition
